Product description

The HM801310/QCL7A SKF is a cup for a single-row tapered roller bearing. This cup is an outer ring that can be combined with a separately available cone (the cage with rolling elements), to form a complete tapered roller bearing. The outer and inner rings have conical raceways and the roller elements are conical as well. This design enables tapered roller bearings to absorb radial and axial forces (in one direction). The greater the angle between the outer ring and the centre line of the bearing, the greater the axial load capacity.

 

The geometrical qualities of tapered roller bearings prevent sliding movements between the raceways and rollers. This will keep component wear down to a minimum. However, a minimum load is required for proper bearing operation. Because cone and cup are separable, they can easily be mounted. In addition, end play (axial clearance) or preload can be adjusted by moving the components axially during assembly.
