How to judge whether the bearing is damaged
To judge whether the bearing of the vehicle is damaged, there are two ways:
Place the vehicle on the lift, rotate the wheel forcefully to see if the wheel will get stuck, and evaluate whether the drag torque of the wheel is normal. If the steel ball is not lubricated well or out of round, it will cause the wheel to get stuck or the drag torque will increase.
Pay attention to whether there is any abnormal sound in the direction of the wheel during normal driving of the vehicle. If the steel ball is not lubricated well, the first problem is the abnormal sound. If there is no abnormal sound, there is generally no problem.
In addition, since the signal source (magnetic pole or ring) of most wheel speed sensors is integrated in the bearing, if there is a problem with the wheel speed signal, the instrument panel will report a fault code, and the ABS fault light will light up as shown in the figure below.
So if the ABS fault light is always on, it is also possible that the magnetic pole of the bearing is damaged.
